The claim has recently been made that “Muslims love Jesus.” But do Muslims really even know who Jesus was?
According to the men who did know Jesus, those who walked and talked with him and saw him resurrected, Jesus was God in human form.
Colossians 1:15 says Jesus is the image of the invisible God.
1 Corinthians 15:3-4, says, “Christ died for our sins. He was buried, and he was raised from the dead on the third day, just as the Scriptures said.”
Then 600 years later, in a different country a man went into a cave by himself and claimed that an angel gave him a new revelation - that Jesus was not crucified. And so it went, that with zero eyewitness testimonies, Muhammad created a new religion called Islam which claims “they did not kill him, nor did they crucify him; but [another] was made to resemble him” (Quran 4:157).
So, who is the more credible source? Matthew, James, John, Peter and Paul who actually saw Jesus' crucifixion and resurrection? Or one man 600 years later in another country hearing a voice by himself?
Additionally, the Roman historian Tacitus, the Jewish historian Josephus, the Syrian philosopher Mara bar Serapion, the Roman governor Pliny the Younger, and the Talmud all record the crucifixion of Jesus. Indeed, the crucifixion of Jesus is one of the most well documented events in all of human history.
In order to love Jesus, Muslims must first know who Jesus was. You should encourage your Muslim friends to read the biographies of Jesus and investigate the historical evidence for themselves.
