Multiple Paths to God?

All roads 1

Many people mistakenly believe that all religions are valid paths to God. Maybe you’ve heard someone say that all religions worship the same God, they just call him by different names. This certainly sounds nice, doesn’t it? This is the claim of Unitarian Universalism, Rob Bell (Love Wins), Richard Rohr (The Universal Christ), “progressive” Christianity, and Oprah Winfrey. It’s inclusive, it’s popular, and it is attracting many people. There’s just one problem with it - it’s dead wrong.

But rather than attempt to argue or debate with someone over this claim of pluralism, try asking them this one simple question…

What did Jesus say about that?

Jesus certainly did not think all religions lead to God. In fact, Jesus claimed that he alone is the way, the truth, and the life, and that no one comes to God the Father except through him (John 14:6). That’s a bold claim!

Jesus also told us, “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it. Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves.” (Matthew 7:13-15)

As Men’s Alliance Tribesmen, we must be the sheepdogs, always alert to wolves in sheep’s clothing. There is only one way, and his name is Jesus!
