The Art of Leadership

Leadership is both science and art. It’s a science in that some principles of leadership are black and white. Show up early. Learn people’s names. These are basic principles on the “science” side of leadership. But the art of leadership is harder to master. And we can always find ways to keep improving. Exercise sound judgement. Know when to stay silent. These are not so black and white, and improving as a leader in these kinds of areas is truly an art.

Our mission statement in Men’s Alliance is: Sharpening men to become the husbands, fathers, and leaders God designed us to be. And without a doubt, one of the very best ways to improve as a leader is to surround yourself with great leaders. Seek out mentors whose path you want to follow. Listen to them. Learn from them.

It’s been my experience that these leader-mentors don’t come find us - we have to go find them. We have to do a little hunting. We have to make an effort. Growing as a leader takes work.

In order to help us accomplish our mission, we are bringing together a whole team of incredible leaders this April at our MA Leadership Summit. We’re assembling some of the very best leader-mentors in one place to make it easy for you to find them.

Every one of our speakers are men who have helped me become a better leader. And personally, I know that I have to keep making the effort to surround myself with them.
