Bo "Sensei" Lackey

My name is James “Bo” Lackey, call sign “Sensei”. I AM A WARRIOR. A United States Navy Veteran, Retired Law Enforcement Officer, and current School Resource Officer. I am an accomplished endurance athlete, and have coached people from all walks of life in the gym, in weight loss, in sports, and in life. I have never been in war in the traditional sense, but have fought many battles. Physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. I fully believe my purpose is to help others and I have lived my entire professional life doing just that. Whether we like it or not, or agree with it, being a man in today’s society comes with certain expectations and obligations. Many men suffer silently trying to live up to those expectations. They feel like they are destined for more, but can’t seem to break down the walls between where they are and where they want to be. I started my first coaching business in 2015. I now own and operate IronHeart Coaching, and am a Men’s Alliance Battlefield Coach in the areas of Fitness & Nutrition, Marriage & Relationships, and Substance Abuse. I am a National Academy of Sports Medicine Certified Personal Trainer and Certified Nutrition Coach, a Light University Certified Professional Life Coach, and am in recovery having celebrated over 35 years of sobriety. I hold many other credentials and specialties. I also have a history as an endurance athlete having completed 3 Ironman Triathlons as well as numerous marathons, ultramarathons, obstacle course races, and military style endurance events. I’ve worked as a coach for national weight loss companies and have a documented history of helping people meet or exceed their goals. IronHeart Coaching seeks to help men find their true selves. The name is based on Proverbs 27:17 - “as iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.” The logo is two crossed swords behind a heart shaped shield to remind us that as a true warrior we must serve with love and compassion.
