During his troubled teen years, he experimented with drugs and alcohol. In college, on a wrestling scholarship, he faced academic probation and lost his scholarship after his step father’s overdose. Tank coped with grief through heavy drinking and chaotic living, but after years of trying to find purpose after his stepdad's passing, he joined the Army to escape his destructive path. He became a medic, served in Afghanistan, and eventually found faith with his wife in Texas, marking a turning point in their spiritual journey.
